Mission Statement
To provide and apply clinically highest quality
1. autologous stem cells for tissue repair in chronic degenerative diseases.
2. autologous/heterologous dendritic cells for treatment of the oncologic patient.
3. autologous/heterologous activated Natural Killer (NK) cells.
4. Fibroblasts for severe orthodontosis and skin repair.
5. Oncolytic viruses, like Newcastle Disease Virus, Reovirus, etc. for treatment of the oncologic patient.
And initiate and support pre-clinical and clinical research, the establishing of a Center for Regenerative
Medicine, and the development and the marketing of the above mentioned products and treatment concepts (Cologne Model) competitively.
Introduction
Stem cells are unspecialized cells that can self-renew indefinitely and also differentiate into more mature cells with highly specialized functions. Stem cell research has the potential to affect the lives of practically everybody around the world. This research and its clinical application is now regularly front-page news. Realizing the promise of stem cells for yielding new medical therapies will require us to grapple with more than just scientific uncertainties. The stem cell debate has led scientists and non-scientists alike to contemplate profound issues, such as who we are and what makes us human beings.
The application of stem cells offers unprecedented opportunities for developing new medical therapies of many diseases, which were considered as “incurable” still a few years ago. The controversy about embryonic stem cells, however, is controversial, given the diverse views held in our societies about moral and legal status of the early embryo.
The controversy stops when it is about the application for medical use of adult (autologous) stem cells. Cells Unlimited International and the Medical Center Cologne only use adult stem cell for medical application.
Over the previous decade, dendritic cell vaccinations have been proven to be potent and safe tool in the battle against cancer with minimal side effects.
Currently, a huge leap forward has been made in research, production, application and acceptance among medical personnel and patients alike of the use of autologous stem cells, and other cells like dendritic cells, activated killer cells and fibroblasts. All these cells are potent therapeutic measurements and strongly suggest quickly increasing medical and cosmetic use.
Adult Stem Cells for Damaged Organs and Tissue Repair
Stem cells are omnipotent in their function. In the embryo, they can form any organ tissue necessary for the development of the fetus. Thus, embryonic stem cells develop organs like kidneys, brain, bone, skin, liver, etc.
Recent research shows that in the adult, stem cells can still be found in the bone marrow. They form a reservoir of so-called “adult stem cells” and leave the bone marrow to initiate tissue repair whenever an organ has been damaged. Examples are myocard infarction, stroke, skin wounds, etc. But over time, bone marrow gets depleted from stem cells. Therefore, when one ages, less stem cells are available for organ repair. That explains why later in life, one heals less quickly and the aging process can, in part, be understood by the diminishing number of available stem cells.
In collaboration with other academic research centers in the EU and the USA , Cells Unlimited has developed a unique method of harvesting stem cells from the bone marrow by multiplying them, and introducing them back into the patient in various ways. In this way, at once, tens of millions of stem cells can be given back to the patient and initiate and support drastically the body’s own repair mechanisms. This method is extremely well-tolerated as these stem cells are the patient’s own stem cells and can never be rejected by one’s own immune defense mechanisms (autologous adult stem cells).
Adult stem cells for organ repair
Especially in chronic disease, applications of adult stem cells offer a safe and usually effective way to improve tissue repair and organ function. Good examples are Parkinson, Multiple Sclerosis, apolexia (stroke), macula degeneration, and impaired heart function secondary to decreased coronary blood flow. Cells Unlimited, in collaboration with the Medical Center in Cologne , Germany , has developed specific ways to manufacture and successfully apply stem cells in the chronically-ill patient.
Adult stem cells for tissue repair (Anti-Aging)
As the number of stem cells in the bone marrow slowly on diminish, the capacity of the body as a whole decreases of maintaining the physiologic fitness of inner organs and tissue repair becomes less effective. Aging can be understood in this way.
The application of tens of millions of adult autologous stem cells at once in the blood stream can initiate a long-lasting capacity to bring about a general tissue repair. Thus, maintaining a higher level of general tissue repair, and physical fitness. Often, people notice improved physical endurance and well-being, leading to greater mental function, productivity and energetic appearance.
